Red Circle: A Safe Space for Mothers to Share Their Stories.

More often than not motherhood is taken for granted. It is assumed that women should ‘naturally’ fit into the role of mother and the journey of mothering should be a flowery, smooth, ‘walk in the park’ like the ones portrayed on baby product adverts. That notion is a myth and an illusion.

Most mothers suffer silently. Their physical wounds may heal but they carry their emotional and psychological scars for years and sometimes throughout their lives. Motherhood could be accompanied with feelings of isolation and alienation caused by lack of empathy from others. Mothers yearn to be heard without judgement.

Kanya D’Almeida (Writer and Podcast host) and I would be facilitating a peer support group for mothers of all ages by providing a safe, non-judgemental, empathic space at the Imaginarium and the first session would be on Friday 8th of December from 6 to 7 pm. We could accomodate a maximum of 10 participants.
