Universal Health Coverage means that everyone, everywhere, should be able to access the health services they need without suffering financial hardship.

But today we are still faced with a huge coverage gap of care and services for common mental health conditions, reaching up to 90% in some low-income countries. Even where services are available, they are not necessarily rights-based and cost-effective.

So what more needs to be done to integrate mental health into plans for Universal Health Coverage? And what are some of the challenges we face?
